This a very basic way to cook quinoa, if possible try to buy quinoa that has already been washed and rinsed.
Ingredients:
1 tbs butter or oil
2 tbs minced onion
1 garlic clove, minced
1 cup quinoa o quinua, washed and rinsed
2 cups of water or broth (chicken, beef or vegetable)
Salt to taste
Preparation:
- Melt the butter on medium heat in a saucepan.
- Add the onion and garlic, cook until soft, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add the quinoa and the water or broth.
- Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and let simmer for about 15 minutes or until the water has evaporated and quinoa is tender.
- Add salt to taste

Do you rinse the quinoa before cooking?
I buy the pre-washed type and it doesn´t require rinsing, however if you can´t find the pre-washed quinoa you will need to a) pick through it to remove any pieces of dirt, small rocks, etc and then b) rinse it several times.
