How to cook quinoa

This a very basic way to cook quinoa, if possible try to buy quinoa that has already been washed and rinsed.

Ingredients:

1 tbs butter or oil

2 tbs minced onion

1 garlic clove, minced

1 cup quinoa o quinua, washed and rinsed

2 cups of water or broth (chicken, beef or vegetable)

Salt to taste

Preparation:

  1. Melt the butter on medium heat in a saucepan.
  2. Add the onion and garlic, cook until soft, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Add the quinoa and the water or broth.
  4. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and let simmer for about 15 minutes or until the water has evaporated and quinoa is tender.
  5. Add salt to taste
