I made this especially for the spinach raspberry salad and wanted something slightly different than the standard candied walnuts, they are also great in other salads or simply served as a snack.
Ingredients:
1 cup walnuts
2 tbs honey
¼ cup sugar
½ tsp chili powder
½ tsp salt
Preparation:
- Pre-heat oven to 350 F
- Mix the walnuts and honey together until the walnuts are all covered with honey
- Mix the sugar, chili powder and salt
- Toss the walnuts with the sugar mix and place the walnuts on a parchment paper covered cookie sheet
- Bake for about 15-20 minutes, turning the walnuts at least once during that time

This sounds like the recipe I was looking for. Thanks!
I am trying the recipe for the first time and they have 5 mins. left in the oven. They look and smell delicious!
I just made this. It is awesome!!! I mixed it in with chiken salad and it really made so much better!
Definite keeper! Just finished a double batch and they turned out perfectly. We will use them in a chicken salad with walnut oil dressing.
Great recipe! Sweet, with just a pinch of salt and an undertone of smoky chili powder. Great as a snack or an addition to almost any salad.
This recipe is definitely a keeper. Thanks!
Best sweet nut recipe I’ve tried yet. Perfect just for snacking! Thanki You.
Hey Laylita!
This sounds a little like “caquita de perro”, I really liked it when I was in Ecuador last month!
You have a wonderful website!
